In 2012-2017, the minimum monthly wage in the Czech Republic increased 37.5% from CZK 8,000 to CZK 11,000.

The growth has not negatively impacted the employment and showed a positive impact on a growth in wages. This stems from a study published by the think tank IDEA při CERGEEI. According to the study, the level of the minimum wage remains on a relatively low level compared with other European countries in 2019. It also applies only to a low share of employees. According to the study, it is not possible to say that the impact of future growths in the minimum wage would not be negative.
