Three ČEZ charging points for electric vehicles are
accompanied by a roof-mounted photovoltaic system with a battery.
Thanks to its capacity of 274 kWh, this system can charge the
batteries of seven midsize e-cars if there is an electricity blackout.
The system is being used to test a partial island operation of the
charging points for use at places with a low or restricted network
output. In addition, ČEPS is performing tests to determine whether
the batteries will prove themselves in the provision of auxiliary
services. The first results hint that there is nothing to prevent them
from assuming the role of virtual batteries.
