SDA: Passenger car registrations fell by a record 53.4 %

April registrations of passenger cars in the Czech Republic saw the largest y/y drop in history, specifically 53.4 %.

The drop affected all segments and vehicle versions with the exception of vehicles with electric and hybrid propulsion, whose registrations increased. Overall sales of new passenger cars fell for the January to April 2020 period by 26.25 %: from 82,537 units to 60,873 units. The most registrations involved the Škoda brand (23,628 vehicles; 38.82% share), followed by Hyundai (5,398 units; 8.87 %) and Volkswagen (5,267 units; 8.65 %).
