ŠKODA AUTO has launched a roof solar power plant in India

ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited has launched a roof solar power plant at its automobile plant in the Indian city of Chakan.

It has thus created the basic requirement for becoming carbon neutral by 2030. The photovoltaic facility consists of 25,770 polycrystallic modules and is located on the roof of the welding complex with an area of 63,000 m2. Every year it will supply 12.2m kWh of energy. It will thus reduce CO2 emissions by more than 9,000 tons per year.
