In general terms, the Association for Internet Development (SPIR) supports the Czech Finance Ministry’s plan to introduce a tax on selected digital services, which should be imposed on global companies not resident in the Czech Republic which therefore do not pay the relevant taxes.

This results in uneven market conditions that prevent the further development of the Czech digital industry. But in its current form the norm could according to SPIR cause problems with the competitiveness of Czech companies which will thanks to their abilities start to get into a situation in which they could remotely compete with supranational giants which unlike them use the advantages of countries with lower taxes.
