Czech scientists have developed a process of the production of alga biomass leading to the reduction of current costs to one half.

It will likely save EUR 10m for the market. The project was supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA ČR) with CZK 4m. The innovative device using the electrolysis was developed by the Institute of Chemical Processes of the Academy of Sciences, ENVIPUR, and the Institute for Hydrodynamics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The biomass is used in the food industry, cosmetics, and the production of feeding mixtures.
