Combustion of brown coal to end by end of 2025

The Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic has published documentation on the CO2 neutrality plan within the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Act. The intention is to end the combustion of brown coal by December 2025. The notifier ŠKOENERGO plans to build a new boiler for wood chips and then retrofit fluidized bed boilers K80 and K90 for future combustion of wood chips and phytopellets. The heat output will increase to 467 MW from the current 410 MW. The territorial self-governing unit in question is the statutory city of Mladá Boleslav.
