Czech Railways (ČD) is testing the introduction of 3D
printing in the maintenance of railway vehicles in Prague and Karlovy Vary. Jan
Janoušek, director of the Project Office, Strategy and Innovation, said that in
the initial phase, they selected 55 different parts that they can produce
themselves through 3D printing. The annual savings for the selected 13
components represent approximately CZK 800,000 per year.
