Scientists from the Mining University - Technical University of Ostrava (VŠBTUO), together with Timplant, are developing titanium dental implants to make them more durable, smaller and easier to heal. If scientists manage to link simple model compounds to the modified surface, it will be possible to extend this technology to more complex substances, such as drugs, which then reduce inflammation and improve the healing process during implantation. Kateřina Dědková from the Center for Advanced Innovative Technologies at VŠB-TUO said that they are currently looking for further funding opportunities for research activities because the project's support ends at the end of 2019.
