Slow ramping up key to safe reopening

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) resumed production in its Nošovice plant on April 14, 2020, following a shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To ensure a smooth start, the carmaker starts with two-shift operation with alternating morning and afternoon shifts. Employees who are allocated a night shift in each given week receive 70% of their average earnings compensation. The plant is extraordinarily partially pre-stocked with parts, which normally is not done in the just in time system. The facility is disinfected several times a day. Employee meetings are also limited.
