SUAS GROUP,
together with the Energy Investment Fund (EIF), founded the company SUAS BESS
and had a battery storage facility built near Královské Poříčí. With a capacity
of 7.45 MWh, it is the largest facility of its kind in the Czech Republic. The
main goal is to maintain the stability of the electricity grid and provide
support services for transmission system operator ČEPS. It will also be used
for trading on the intraday electricity market. The storage facility forms part
of the planned Energy Hub, which will bring together the traditional and
sustainable energy sources of Sokolovská uhelná.
