With their modernization the steelworks will reduce the electricity consumption of filters in the northern part of the agglomeration by half and thus save non-renewable sources. Companies ZVVZ-Enven Engineering and ZK – Termochem are taking part in the work. For lowering final energy consumption ArcelorMittal Ostrava will get for the project a subsidy totaling CZK 23m from the Industry and Trade Ministry of the Czech Republic from program OPPIK.
