Avast shareholders approve merger with NortonLifeLock

Czech leading provider of security software will merge with American company.

Avast's shareholders have approved the sale of the company to US company NortonLifeLock. The value of the transaction, which has already been approved by the U.S. Department of Justice, is nearly CZK 200bn (approx. USD 9bn). More than 86% of shareholders, holding a combined 94% stake, voted in favour of the merger. Subject to regulatory approval in other countries, the transaction is expected to be completed in mid-2022.
