Czech brewery Budějovický Budvar was able to raise the production
of beer by 51,000 hectolitres to 1.730 million hectolitres even
despite complications related to the coronavirus crisis in 2020. It
was the highest production of beer in the history of the company.
According to company head Petr Dvořák, the volume of sales on the
domestic market increased by 2% and the sales on export markets
grew by nearly 3.5%. The brewery lost tens of millions of CZK due to
the coronavirus measures, primarily due to closed pubs and
restaurants, and the shutdown of its visitors centre.
