Gross wage grows by 6.5%, median is CZK 32,870

In the Czech Republic, the gross wages grew in 2020.

The average gross monthly nominal wage per recalculated number of employees in the national economy increased by 6.5% y/y in 4Q 2020. In real terms, it increased by 3.8%. The information was provided by the Czech Statistical Office. The median of the wages totalled CZK 32,870 (+5.4%). Compared with the previous quarter, the seasonally adjusted average wage increased by 1.9%. A total of 80% of employees were paid a wage between CZK 16,356 and CZK 63,781. The average wage reached CZK 35,611 in 2020. The annual growth reached CZK 1,500 (4.4%). Consumer prices were higher by 3.2%, in real terms by 1.2%.
