(ČIA) AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE has signed a contract with
the Hungarian Defence Forces Command for the delivery of 12 L-39NG jet trainers
and related support services. Eight of the aircraft will be in a trainer
configuration and the remaining four in a reconnaissance configuration, which
is equipped with an EO/IR system to identify and track stationary and moving objects
on the ground. The first aircraft will be delivered in 2024. Both parties have
agreed not to disclose the contract amount. President and CEO Viktor Sotona
said that along with the Hungarian contract, the company now has contracts for
nearly 30 new L-39NGs. He added that, given further ongoing negotiations with
customers, this number could increase by dozens more machines over the next few
years
