(ČIA) Electric cars could account for around half of new car
sales in the US, Western Europe, Japan, and China by 2030. This is according to
a survey by KPMG Česká republika. Almost three-quarters of respondents believe
that by 2030, the cost of e-vehicles will fall to the level of
combustion-engine cars. Respondents were most concerned about problems in
supply chains, which have been exacerbated by the war in Ukraine. Most believe
that self-driving cars will be commercially available by the end of the decade.
Development and testing of flying cars are in advanced stages, including in
Slovakia. KPMG automotive expert Jan Linhart said that research suggests that
by 2030, the majority of new cars will be sold online. 85% of respondents are
considering new investments, acquisitions, or partnerships in the next few
years.
