Czech technology will be used in a satellite to be sent to Jupiter by the European Space Agency (ESA).

L.K. Engineering has been working on projects for the JUICE space mission. It is developing a mechanism for the unfolding of satellite arms. The company told ČIANEWS that it was responsible for the comprehensive construction design, analyses and partially also for arms testing. Apart from that, it is developing a retention system for an antenna’s foldable arm for JUICE. Whereas it still has to be decided on by the European Space Agency (ESA) whether to include the first project in the mission, the second one has already been included to JUICE. The mission should start in mid-2022 and reach Jupiter in 7.5 years.
