MUNI laboratory adapting bacteria for industrial use

Scientists at Masaryk University in Brno are working on adapting new bacteria for use in production of bioplastics and second-generation biofuel.

The microorganism bioengineering laboratory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Masaryk University in Brno (MUNI) is working on adapting Pseudomonas bacteria for use in production of bioplastics and second generation biofuel. Researchers are considering the option of Pseudomonas bacteria replacing some traditional bacteria used in industry such as Escherichia-coli or food yeast in specific applications.
