Czech company Photon Energy Group will build a hybrid solar and battery system in Australia.

Photon Energy Engineering Australia, a subsidiary of Photon Energy Group, will build a hybrid solar and battery system on Lord Howe Island (New South Wales, Australia). The aim is to reduce dependence on diesel energy. With a total cost of AUD 11.1m, the project includes more than 1.2 MWp of photovoltaics and accumulators with a capacity of over 3.2 MWh. It is expected that an installation integrated with its micro-network will provide more than two-thirds of the target diesel reduction and increase the security of energy supply. Construction will start in early 2020.
