Real consumption per capita fell by 4.4% in 2Q

According to seasonally adjusted data, the sum of income of households increased by 0.3% q/q at constant prices in 2Q 2020.

Real consumption per capita decreased by 4.4% and the savings rate increased by 5.3 pp. The Czech Statistical Office informed about it. The average monthly income from employment reached CZK 34,142 and decreased by 7.1% in real terms compared to the previous quarter (-7.4% y/y). The decrease was due to the cessation of production and the closure of some establishments as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. In the case of non-financial corporations, the profit rate reached 42.9% (annually -1.0 pp; quarter-on-quarter -1.1 pp).
