Czech retail up 5.5%; e-shops up 15.3%

Unadjusted retail revenues increased by 3.1% y/y in July 2021, the Czech Statistical Office reported, adding that they grew by 5.5% after adjusting for calendar effects.

The increase in sales was mostly driven by growth in sales of goods sold via the internet or mail order (+15.3%). The price deflator compared to the same period of the previous year (excluding the impact of VAT) was 103.3%. On a month-on-month basis, sales increased by 0.5% in real terms after adjustments.
