Government of the Czech Republic approved defense cooperation agreement with the United States

Defense agreement outlining cooperation between Czech, and U.S. armed forces was announced but is yet to be signed. This agreement will potentially allow for U.S. military presence in the Czech Republic.

A defense cooperation was agreed upon between the Czech government and the United States. This agreement sets a framework for a potential U.S. military presence on Czech lands, and a cooperation between U.S. and Czech armed forces. 


The Czech and U.S. defense ministers are yet to sign the deal, that after signing still needs to be approved by the parliament.


Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said in a televised news conference. "This is important in these unquiet times, unstable international environment, it is without doubt a step that raises the security of our country and our people".
