IBM, in collaboration with Datera, has supplied a modern central data storage facility to the IT4Innovations national supercomputing centre which will enable it to increase storage capacities, energy efficiency and scalability and to simplify maintenance.

IBM Czech Republic HW systems manager Jan Štěpánek said that the IBM Spectrum Scale technology could also be used for extremely demanding calculations in the high-performance computing (HPC) category. The system’s total throughput is 39 GB/s and it is capable of performing up to 57,000 I/O operations per second.
