Government and automakers cooperate on expanding the network of charging stations in the Czech Republic.

On October 12, 2021, the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic (MD), the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Railway Administration, the Road and Motorway Directorate, the Waterways Directorate, ŠKODA AUTO and ČEZ signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the Development of Electromobility in the Czech Republic. The document aims to build an adequate network of electric charging stations by 2025 in view of the growing number of registered electric vehicles. According to forecasts, up to 500,000 electric vehicles are expected to be operating in the Czech Republic by 2030. Such a number requires an adequate network of chargers, which is expected to number up to 35 thousand. Silvana Jirotková, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said that support for clean mobility is also envisaged in the National Renewal Plan, with CZK 4.8bn allocated for it.
