By the end of 2020, the City of Prague will shut down one of its data centres near the Šárka Valley. With this step, the city will save almost CZK 12.5m per year. The saved money will be used to improve the applications of the city and city districts. The migration of servers and other applications began in March 2020. They were prevailingly moved to the data centre at Chodovec. At the same time, Prague is preparing to build a new data centre at Malovanka. The completion of works and the transfer of servers are planned for 2024.
