Despite a record-breaking number of passengers handled, almost 18 million in 2019, Prague Airport has been struggling with a drop in cost-effective transit flights, daily E15 informs. In 2010, almost 1/4 of all passengers transferred. However, according to airport data, their share has fallen below 3% in the last five years. As a result, the airport loses some revenue, in particular part of the airline charges. On the contrary, tourism in Prague benefits from the fact that 97% of the passengers end their flight at Ruzyně.
