Brno, SAKO Brno, SUEZ CZ to build CZK 240m biogas station

The statutory city of Brno, together with the companies SAKO Brno and SUEZ CZ, will build a biogas plant, which will be used for the production of biogas from biodegradable waste and gastro waste with a capacity of 10,000 to 25,000 tons per year. The memorandum foresees the creation of a joint corporation, in which SUEZ CZ will hold 49% and SAKO Brno 51%, to which SUEZ CZ will transfer ownership rights to the Centrální kompostárna Brno, while the city of Brno will provide a lot for construction next to the composting plant and explore options for collection of gastro waste in its territory. The investment is estimated at CZK 190m for the option with 10,000 tons of organic waste p.a. and CZK 240m for the option with 25,000 tons of bio-waste per year. The station is expected to be completed in 2023.
