PwC: 1,200 battery cars sold in 1H

In 1H 2021 the world's most important electromobility markets recorded a y/y increase in registrations of 128 % to 4.53m vehicles after last year's partial decline caused by the coronavirus. The market share reached 18 %. This follows from the PwC Strategy & Electric Vehicles Sales study. Sales of purely electric cars in the Czech Republic remained almost unchanged year-on-year, with more than 1,200 battery cars sold in 1H. That's one in a hundred. PwC expert on the automotive industry Pavel Štefek said that there is a lack of support and education from the side of the state. The obstacles are high prices of electric cars and insufficient infrastructure. The European Commission decided in July to completely ban the sale of internal combustion engines after 2035.
