In April 2021, a seasonally adjusted general unemployment rate in
the age category of 15 to 64 years grew 1.2 pp to 3.4%. The
employment rate dropped to 74.1%, according to figures published
by the Czech Statistical Office. The economic-activity rate totalled 76.7% (+0.9 pp). Labour market and equal opportunities statistics
section director Dalibor Holý said that the pandemic had widened
the gap between the unemployment of women and men. According
to Eurostat data, the general unemployment rate of people aged
between 15 and 74 in the Czech Republic was at 3.4% in April.
