Degree Programmes
VŠPJ implements professionally oriented study programs of bachelor and master type in full-time and combined form of study and lifelong learning courses.
The diverse range of bachelor's degree programmes in the fields of economics, healthcare and engineering, and the master's degree programme meet the needs of the regional labour market and is in line with the name of the school. The word polytechnical is taken from ancient Greek and expresses in the broadest sense proficiency in an art or craft, experience, skill, dexterity, mastery, a range of skills. And this is the direction that the relatively young regionally oriented school is taking.
The overall goal of study in accredited degree programs is to provide students with the opportunity to receive a career-oriented education with distinctly practical outcomes. Long-term internships of at least 12 weeks are an important part of the study. After passing the state final exam and defending the bachelor's / diploma thesis, the graduate receives a diploma and the title of bachelor (Bc.) / master (Mgr.) / engineer (Ing.) as well as the possibility of further study in follow-up programs at other universities in the country or abroad. The study in accredited bachelor's degree programmes lasts three years and takes place in full-time and combined form. Studies in accredited master's degree programmes last two years and are conducted in the combined form of study. The study offer is continuously expanded as new study programmes are accredited in the administrative procedure.
Continuing education is provided in lifelong learning courses including the University of the Third Age.
As a research organization on the list of the Ministry of Education and
Science, VŠPJ is involved in various research and creative activities,
participates in solving assignments from corporate or public sphere,
organizes conferences with international participation, publishes its own
journals and students and academic staff participate in international
exchange visits. It is also the only university in the Czech Republic to
operate its own travel agency.
