Czech Startup Deepnote Makes Waves with First Acquisition of U.S. Competitor Hyperquery

Deepnote, known for its innovative data notebook platform, is expanding its global reach with the acquisition of Hyperquery, consolidating the market and enhancing its client portfolio.

Czech startup Deepnote, founded by Slovak entrepreneur Jakub Jurových, is making significant strides in the data analysis industry. The platform, which enables users to work collaboratively on data projects in real-time, has garnered over 300,000 users globally, including major companies like SoundCloud and Webflow.

In a move to strengthen its position in the market, Deepnote has announced its first acquisition: the purchase of American competitor Hyperquery. The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, is aimed at consolidating the market by integrating Hyperquery's clients and resources. The focus is not on Hyperquery's technology or team, but rather on expanding Deepnote's client base and market reach.

Deepnote has seen substantial growth, with revenues reportedly tripling last year. The company has attracted significant investment, securing over half a billion CZK in funding, with top-tier venture funds like Index Ventures and Accel backing its vision. Positioned as a leader in the data notebook platform space, Deepnote is set to continue its growth, bringing a transformative approach to data analysis similar to what Excel did for spreadsheets decades ago.
