Yoneda Labs, founded by Czech Jan Obořil and Poles Michal Mgeladze-Arciuch and Daniel Vlasits, has secured significant investment to automate chemical experiments, matching the daily output of twenty chemists.
Jan Obořil, inspired by inefficiencies he observed in pharmaceutical companies during his studies at Cambridge University, co-founded Yoneda Labs with two Polish colleagues. The startup leverages AI to optimize chemical reactions, aiming to reduce waste and costs in drug development.
Yoneda Labs has garnered significant investment interest, attracting over $100 million in its first funding round. This financial boost will be used to build an automated laboratory, enabling the performance and analysis of hundreds of chemical reactions daily.
By the end of the year, the co-founders aim to achieve the capacity to conduct 200 experiments daily, equivalent to the output of twenty full-time chemists. This positions Yoneda Labs as a potential leader in the application of AI to the field of chemistry.
