The balance of
foreign trade in goods at current prices ended in June 2023 with a surplus of
CZK 18.2bn, which was a year-on-year increase of CZK 33.4bn. This follows from
the preliminary data of the Czech Statistical Office. Exports fell by 1.0 % to
CZK 398.3bn and imports by 7.2 % to CZK 380.1bn. The balance of foreign trade with
EU countries improved by CZK 15.1bn. In January to June 2023, the trade balance
surplus reached CZK 79.8bn, compared to a deficit of CZK 83.2bn in the same
period of the previous year. Exports rose by 5.0 %, while imports fell by 2.4
%.
