Business between Czech Republic and Egypt is increasing again, as the traditional supplier of pumps for irrigation systems to Egypts, the copmany Sigma Lutín, will deliver totally 12 large pumps to new projects in Egypt.

The company Sigma Group from Lutín in Olomouc will deliver 12 large pumps to Egypt, which will be installed in the irrigation system there. The Lutín enterprise is now completing the first ordered pump. Sigma Group, which heads the pump holding company of the same name, announced this on its company website. She did not disclose the amount of the contract.

The pumps are intended for pumping stations in Egypt, which will ensure the flow of water in the irrigation system being built. "Large-capacity pumps in this network are used for long-distance water transport between individual stations," Sigma Group said. The ordered pumps have a discharge elbow diameter of 1.4 meters. At almost 500 revolutions of the rotor per minute, the pump can ensure a flow of up to 8,000 liters of water per second and transport it up to a height of 30 meters.

The engineering group Sigma Group consists of several development, production and trading companies focused on the production of pumps for energy, water management, agriculture, chemistry or smelters and mines. In the field of pumps for nuclear power, Sigma Group is an approved supplier for ČEZ, Slovenské elektrárne, Škoda JS, NDK Turecko, CKBM from the Russian group Rosatom, Atomstrojexport and General Electric.

In the nuclear energy sector, the Sigma Group has long-term cooperation with, for example, the Russian Rosatom. Last spring, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it ceased all its business activities in Russia and withdrew from building a joint venture for the production of pumps in Voronezh.
