The consumer confidence indicator in the Czech
Republic rose for the fourth month to 103.8 in April 2024, marking the highest
reading since September 2021, up from 99.9 in the previous period.
The number of respondents expecting a worsening of the overall economic
situation in the next twelve months decreased for the fourth month in a row. At
the same time, the number of consumers assessing their current financial
situation worse than in the previous twelve months decreased, while the number
of respondents expecting an improvement in their financial situation in the
next twelve months remained unchanged.
Moreover, the share of consumers who believe that the current time is not
suitable for making large purchases has not changed compared to the prior
month.
