Consumer prices rose 9.7% y/y in
June 2023, 1.4p lower than in May. The slowdown in growth was mainly driven by
developments in the food section, where increases in meat in particular eased
(to 4.7% from 8.7% in May), and in the housing section. The increase in the
prices of goods and services for routine maintenance of housing slowed down to
10.0% from 12.4%, natural gas to 39.8% from 47.6%, and solid fuels to 35.2%
from 39.4%, the Czech Statistical Office reported. Prices of goods rose by
10.7% in total and prices of services by 7.9%. According to Eurostat data,
inflation in the EU27 reached 7.1% in May
