Czech Seznam Radio stations Expres FM and Classic Praha unveil synthetic news anchors driven by AI technology, delivering tailored regional news segments to listeners.

Starting March's end, Seznam Radio listeners will encounter synthetic news announcers powered by artificial intelligence. These AI-driven voices, trained on real journalists' vocal patterns, will provide customized regional news updates for various areas including Prague, Plzeň, Karlovy Vary, and more.

These synthetic anchors will deliver hourly broadcasts on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., each segment lasting up to five minutes and including weather forecasts. While music playlists remain consistent, the synthetic voices ensure seamless news delivery.

Seznam's AI initiative features five voices, including "Hacsiko," modeled after presenter Bára Hacsi. Collaborating with startup Mama AI, Seznam ensures human-machine collaboration to craft scripts and integrate synthesized voices into broadcasts.

Listeners will be informed of AI involvement, and Seznam plans to introduce more synthetic voices across its platforms, including television.
