Shoptet’s e-shops’ turnover up 19% to CZK 14bn in Q2

The recent data by the largest e-commerce platform in the Czech Republic show the growth is led mainly by the small and medium e-shops.

The aggregate turnover of e-shops on the Shoptet platform in the Czech Republic reached CZK 14bn in Q2 2023. Currently, one in four CZK is spent in online shops via small and medium-sized e-shops. Turnover increased by 8% q/q and 19% y/y. The biggest q/q increase was achieved by e-shops focused on travel (+45%). On the other hand, collectibles recorded a drop of more than a third. There were also declines in erotic equipment (-17%), computers and games. In a year-on-year comparison, tobacco sales recorded the biggest drop (by almost a quarter). Gastronomy and catering showed the biggest increase (+65%).
