Bilateral trade between the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic reached £11.3 billion over the past four quarters, marking a 1.5% year-on-year increase according to the latest figures from the Department for Business and Trade. This growth solidifies Czechia's role as a vital Central European economic partner for Britain, ranking as the UK’s 30th largest trading partner globally. While overall trade remains heavily heavily weighted toward imports into the UK, total British exports to the Czech Republic rose to £3.8 billion, driven by sustained demand for specialised industrial equipment and high-value commercial services.

Goods account for the lion’s share of the bilateral relationship, totaling £9.8 billion in trade flow. Czechia’s deeply integrated manufacturing ecosystem continues to act as a crucial nearshoring hub for British supply chains, exporting £6.0 billion in machinery, automotive powertrains, electronic assemblies, and structural components to the UK. In return, British manufacturers exported £3.8 billion in advanced machinery, pharmaceuticals, precision optics, and aerospace components, demonstrating the interdependent nature of cross-border industrial manufacturing between the two nations.

While goods dominate total volume, the service sector highlights the UK's core competitive advantage, generating a £206 million trade surplus with Czechia. British firms exported £1.7 billion in financial services, legal consulting, corporate strategy, and architectural design to Czech businesses. Simultaneously, UK imports of Czech digital services, software development, and logistics engineering surged by nearly 18% year-on-year, underscoring growing technological collaboration between London, Prague, and regional tech hubs across both countries.
