Brno-based NenoVision builds world’s most sensitive nano-electrical module, used by Nvidia

Advanced Czech technology strengthens the country's reputation as a semiconductor hub and attracts global investors.

The Czech Republic continues to solidify its status as a key supplier in global semiconductor value chains. Brno-based firm NenoVision has developed the world’s most sensitive nano-electrical measuring tool, integrated into electron microscopes and already used by leading chipmaker Nvidia. This innovation enhances the country’s profile as an R&D destination and strengthens its position within advanced manufacturing.

NenoVision’s product, LiteScope, is a patented add-on for scanning electron microscopes. It enables high-resolution imaging of chip structures along with advanced analysis of their electrical properties. The module combines atomic force microscopy (AFM) with electron beam capabilities, allowing measurement of conductivity, current leakage, or doping concentration—directly inside the vacuum chamber of a microscope without moving the sample.

Czech innovation in the heart of the semiconductor industry

NenoVision works with global manufacturers of electron microscopes like Thermo Fisher Scientific and Tescan. Its AFM-in-SEM innovation allows simultaneous structural and electrical analysis at the nanoscale, meeting the stringent demands of chipmakers. Nvidia uses LiteScope to examine defects in 5nm semiconductor components, a critical step in the development of AI chips.

Other Czech firms like Meopta and Brno’s electron microscope giants (Tescan, Delong Instruments, Thermo Fisher) are already embedded in semiconductor ecosystems. OECD recognizes the Czech Republic as a major semiconductor equipment supplier thanks to this industrial concentration. With NenoVision’s success, Brno further cements its reputation as a hotspot for nanoelectronics.

Investment attraction potential

This achievement showcases the Czech Republic as an ideal destination for investment in semiconductor R&D and testing infrastructure. The local ecosystem combines scientific expertise, manufacturing tradition, and close cooperation with global tech leaders. CzechTrade supports foreign investors exploring opportunities in high-tech sectors and offers tailored services to connect them with the Czech innovation landscape.
