The cooperation between the Czech Republic and Israel is proving to be fruitful

The Czech Republic is an long-standing Israeli partner, offering political support and security collaboration. Just days after the announcement of the supply of Czech plates for ballistic vests to Israel, more security-related agreements have emerged.

The Czech Ministry of Defence has signed a contract for the purchase of 48 Israeli I-Derby Long Range anti-aircraft missiles for the SPYDER anti-aircraft missile system perviously purchased from Israel. The contract for the missiles is woth 2.8 billion Czech crowns and is set to be completed by 2027.

The deal also includes options for future missile purchase, with a maximal value of 12.6 billion of Czech crowns. The Israeli side will benefit from the cooperation with Czech companies RETIA and the Military Technical Intitute to deliver the missiles, ensure logistics, and facilitate the smooth integration of the information systems.

Furthermore, the renowned Israeli manufacturer of drones, Elbit Systems, plans to establish a state-of the-art development, production and training centre in the Czech Republic. The domestic partner of the Israelis is LPP, a Czech company focused on civil and military avionics, autonomous driving, thermal cameras or spotting scopes.

This centre will be the first of its kind in the European part of NATO. Elbit has internationally operated mostly in the United States of America so far. The succes of recent security-related deals confirms the significant potential for cooperation between Israel and the Czech Republic.
