The Czech Ministry of Transport has recognized the provisional approval of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised), or FSD Supervised, previously issued by the Dutch vehicle authority RDW in April 2026. Tesla says it will begin activating the feature for eligible vehicles in the Czech Republic via an over-the-air software update within the next few days.

The decision does not constitute a separate Czech homologation. Instead, Czech authorities accepted the Dutch provisional approval under EU vehicle approval rules following several months of technical assessment and consultations at both national and European levels. Czechia is therefore joining a growing group of European countries allowing the system to operate under specified conditions.

FSD Supervised is more advanced than conventional adaptive cruise control or lane-keeping assistance. According to Tesla, the system can navigate urban traffic, handle intersections, change lanes and react to other road users. It primarily relies on the vehicle’s external cameras and neural-network-based software trained using data collected from Tesla’s global fleet.

Despite its name, FSD Supervised does not make a Tesla fully autonomous. Drivers must remain attentive and ready to intervene at all times, and they retain full responsibility for operating the vehicle. Availability may also vary depending on the vehicle model, hardware configuration and software version.
