Czech Republic retains its position among the world’s safest countries

Two international rankings in 2025 reaffirm the Czech Republic’s position among the world’s safest and most socially stable countries.

The Czech Republic has been ranked among the safest countries in the world in two major international assessments for 2025. In the Travel Safety Index 2025, which evaluates 180 countries based on 35 indicators including crime levels, political stability, healthcare quality, and natural disaster risks, the Czech Republic achieved an impressive 6th place globally.

This strong result is reinforced by the Global Peace Index 2025, published by the Institute for Economics and Peace, where the country improved its position to 11th place. The index assesses security and societal stability using 23 indicators across multiple categories, confirming the Czech Republic’s long-term resilience and safety.

According to the Director of CzechTourism, these rankings validate the country’s strategic direction for 2026-2030, which links safety and sustainability with economic benefits. The aim is to position the Czech Republic as a destination where tourists, expatriates, and investors feel equally secure while contributing positively to regional development.

With consistently low crime rates, reliable healthcare, strong institutions, and stable infrastructure, the Czech Republic stands out in an increasingly uncertain global environment. Ranked alongside countries such as Iceland, Singapore, and Switzerland, it continues to strengthen its position as one of the safest and most stable destinations in Central Europe, attracting visitors, families, skilled professionals and long-term investors.
