Vietjet Air launched its Prague–Hanoi route on 10 October 2026, establishing a new air connection between Vietnam and the Czech Republic. The service is expected to facilitate travel, tourism and business exchanges while supporting closer economic cooperation between the two countries.
Prague has become Vietjet Air’s first destination in Europe, marking an important milestone in the Vietnamese carrier’s international expansion. The launch of the new route also provides an additional connection between Vietnam and Central Europe, creating new opportunities for tourism, trade and investment.
At the inaugural flight ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam highlighted the broader significance of the connection, describing it as more than an air link between the two countries. He noted that it represents a new bridge between Vietnam and the Czech Republic at a time when their Strategic Partnership is developing across a wide range of areas, including politics, trade, investment, tourism, education, science and technology, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
The route is operated twice a week using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, with a capacity of 377 passengers. Flights depart Prague every Tuesday and Saturday at 20:55 and arrive in Hanoi at 16:20 the following day, local time. In the opposite direction, flights depart Hanoi at 08:25 and arrive in Prague at 18:55. The service includes a stopover in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The new connection is expected to make the Czech Republic more accessible to Vietnamese travellers, including tourists, students and businesspeople. It will also provide greater convenience for the Vietnamese community living in the Czech Republic, which maintains strong family, cultural and business ties with Vietnam.
For businesses in both countries, improved air connectivity can facilitate face-to-face meetings, strengthen professional networks and support the development of new commercial partnerships. As economic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic continue to expand, the route offers an additional practical link for companies exploring opportunities in each other’s markets.
The launch of the Prague–Hanoi service is therefore a welcome development in bilateral connectivity, complementing the countries’ growing cooperation in trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people relations.
