EXPO 2025 Begins April 13 — The Czech Pavilion Is Ready

EXPO 2025, taking place from April 13 to October 13 in Osaka, Japan, is already generating significant global interest.

The Czech Pavilion is among the international pavilions fully prepared for the event, having received all necessary approvals. During the test opening on April 7, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba visited only one international exhibition—the Czech Pavilion. Many other international pavilions were not yet open for the test run, as they had not completed their documentation and final preparations.

The Czech Pavilion, designed by Apropos Architects, features a striking glass spiral. Its wooden framework is enveloped in artistic glass, reflecting the Czech Republic’s long-standing tradition of glassmaking. This marks the sixth time the Czech Republic is participating in a World Expo as a sovereign state.

In addition to celebrating its cultural heritage—such as classical music and glass art—the Czech exhibition will highlight the country's strengths in innovation. Visitors will be able to learn more about the Czech cutting-edge developments in nanotechnology, cybersecurity, creative industries, and technologies from university spin-offs, particularly in the medical sector.
