A major Czech–Slovak satellite project alongside rising business confidence across key sectors highlights growing innovation and positive economic momentum in the Czech Republic.
Satellite project launched
Joint Czech‑Slovak satellite project launched The CEVROSat II project has been launched in Prague, marking the largest Czech‑Slovak space collaboration to date. Two identical satellites—one for each country—are scheduled to be sent into orbit together next year aboard a Falcon 9 rocket. The mission, with a cost of up to CZK 120 million, builds on the 2025 CEVROSat I project. Universities and private companies from both countries are involved in research, construction, and operational activities (expats.cz).
Confidence Rises in February
Business confidence in the Czech Republic increased to 99.8 in February 2026, up from 98.6 in the previous month. Most major sectors recorded positive momentum. The industrial sector saw the strongest improvement, with confidence jumping to 97.5 from 92, supported by higher levels of finished product inventories. Optimism in the construction sector also strengthened, rising to 116.1 from 112. Meanwhile, the trade sector remained stable at 96.8, unchanged from January (Trading Economics).
