The Technical University of Liberec is a Czech research-oriented university focused on engineering, nanomaterials, mechatronics and applied research, strongly linked with industry and innovation.
The Technical University of Liberec (TUL) is a well-established Czech technical university founded in 1953, located in the city of Liberec in the northern part of the Czech Republic. It is a medium-sized university and the only higher education institution in the Liberec Region, providing a strong regional anchor for education, research, and innovation. Today, it educates approximately 6,000–8,000 students across seven faculties and one specialized research institute, offering a broad spectrum of study programmes from engineering and natural sciences to economics, humanities, architecture, and health studies.
The university has a long-standing tradition of close cooperation with industry, particularly in sectors that define the region’s economy, such as mechanical engineering, automotive industry, textiles, glass, and advanced manufacturing.
