The Czech National Pavilion in Osaka, which highlights the traditions of the Czech Republic, was inaugurated by a number of distinguished guests from the Czech Republic and Japan.
Expo 2025 kicked off in Osaka, Japan, where the Czechia is presenting itself in style. The Czech pavilion in the centre of the action will feature a glass spiral combined with a wooden structure made from Czech forests. This CZK 240 million architectural exception by Apropos Architects is intended to be a symbol of the country's craftsmanship and technological maturity.
The pavilion also includes a restaurant with Pilsner beer and Czech cuisine in Asian style. The interior design and hostess uniforms were designed by fashion designer Jan Černý, and the pavilion's mascot is René the Green - a tribute to glassmaker René Roubíček.
The exhibition continues the legacy of Alfons Mucha and presents monumental glass sculptures and contemporary art. The visitor route is decorated with light installations and glass objects depicting the beauty of nature. More than two hundred Czech artists will be featured in the pavilion during the exhibition, culminating in the National Day of the Czech Republic on 24 July, symbolically commemorating the birth of Alfons Mucha.
The Expo represents not only a cultural but also a business opportunity. Companies like CTP use the international event to strengthen business relations and present the Czech Republic as a modern and innovative partner.
