General Consulate of São Paulo supported economic diplomacy in the field of science, research and innovation during the week between 19th and 25th of August. The project focused on nanotechnology, biomedicine, bioengineering, research and application of advanced materials, semiconductors and IT. A total of 7 Czech companies participated in the mission, which aimed to map the local market for commercial use, establish cooperation on joint research, negotiate exchange stays and memorandum between universities and research institutes. Not only negotiations took place, but also a visit to local institutions and the Feiplar & Feipur International Advanced Materials Fair.
Petr Solil from Biocev, Jan Veleba from SVCS, Edpo Arabda and GF Machinery, Karel Havlíček from Nanoprogress and Daniela Plachá from the Technical University of Ostrava were the participants in the delegation. As part of the visit, everyone had the opportunity to present themselves on the premises of the Brazilian University of São Paulo (USP), in the newly established innovation center InovaUSP. They also visited the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), the National Center for Energy and Materials Research (CNPEM) or the National Nanotechnology Laboratory (LNNano).
The group was joined by representatives of the Czech company Signosoft Brasil in Rio de Janeiro during the last day of the visit. Signosoft Brasil focuses on digitization of documents and electronic and biometric signatures and offers their services in the visited institutes. Together, they were accepted at Fiocruz, an institution linked to the Ministry of Health that deals with research and scientific and technological development in the Brazilian health sector. It was Fiocruz that participated in the development of vaccines during Covid-19 and deals with the production of immunobiological preparations. Doctors and scientists showed great interest in cooperation with Biocev.
